Butler County's great daily newspaper

Class acts

During the week of Jan. 11 I had the pleasure of conducting a seminar for students in the JOB Corps program at BC3.

Last week, I was extremely fortunate to have two outstanding community members address the students. On Tuesday Cranberry Township manager Jerry Andree spoke, and on Friday newly-elected Butler County Commissioner Kim Geyer addressed students.

When speaking, both patiently passed on their work histories and emphasized the benefit of hard work, perseverance, and maintaining a positive attitude as important attributes for success. Both took time to answer all questions from the students, provided information about jobs in their organizations, and pointed the students in the direction of opportunity in various fields.

Butler County should be very proud to have Commissioner Geyer and Cranberry Township manager Andree as representatives of our county. They are intelligent, educated, hard working, but most of all unpretentious enough to take time to help our young people march toward success.
