Smith 100th birthday
Evelyn Majors Smith of New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, will celebrate her 100th birthday at her home with her friends and family Saturday. They will have a family dinner and open house from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and help paint a fence.
The former Evelyn Majors was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Daugherty. She married the late Lowry Smith when she was 20.
She worked with her husband at Smith Brothers Gun Store. The store sold guns, fishing supplies, outboard motors, automobiles and recreation trailers. She was the secretary and also placed orders. She was a notary at the store and also did notary work when the Pennsylvania Turnpike was built. She also raised and sold show sheep and cattle.
Mrs. Smith is a member of Unionville Methodist Church.
