Lisa Nicholas Konesni and her late husband, David Konesni, were announced Wednesday, April 8, as this year’s Jean B. Purvis Community Cornerstone Award.

Lisa Nicholas Konesni will be presented with their awards at a dinner in their honor at Butler Country Club on May 8.

The annual award is presented to individuals whose leadership, service and enduring commitment have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the Butler County community.

“David and Lisa Konesni have been steadfast supporters of the Community Health Center for many years,” Kim Reamer, the center’s executive director, said. “David’s long tenure and confident leadership during his time on the clinic’s board of directors had a profound impact on shaping us into the organization that we are today.

“Likewise, Lisa has lent her support to the Community Health Center by serving on the planning committee of several fundraising events. The Butler community has benefited greatly from David and Lisa’s commitment to serving others.”

Lisa Konesni has served on the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation’s board of directors since 1993 and served two terms on the Butler Area school board. She has also served on the Butler Area Public Library board and has led several planning committees for nonprofits across the area.

David Konesni is the former president and CEO of Nicholas Enterprises and served on the Community Health Center’s board between 2009 and 2021, where he was later named president emeritus. He died in January 2025 after a five-year battle with ALS.

Community Health Center provides comprehensive primary and preventive medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health care to uninsured and underinsured residents of Butler County and surrounding areas at no cost. The center is funded entirely by community donations and grants.
