Carbin 60th anniversary
Victor and Mary Margaret Carbin of Saxonburg will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a 1:30 p.m. Mass Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Herman, followed by dinner with family and friends at the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, 572 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
Carbin married the former Mary Margaret Kriley on Sept. 22, 1955, at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
They have nine children, Victoria (Dale) Cornetti of Boyers; Catherine Jesteadt of Prospect; Mary Lou (Ben) Cypher of Saxonburg; James (Linda) Carbin of Acushnet, Mass.; Raymond Carbin of Saxonburg; Randal Carbin of Columbus, Ohio; Stephen (Sherry) Carbin of Buford, Ga.; Marcia (Matthew) Gildea of Belchertown, Mass.; and Patricia (Walter) Gall of Butler.
They also have 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Carbin is retired from Armco after 39½ years of service.
He served in the U.S. Army with the Allied Occupation Forces in Germany.
Mrs. Carbin formerly worked as a sales clerk with W.T. Grant in Butler and later worked in the production office of Castle Rubber in East Butler. She is currently a homemaker and enjoys embroidery. She is a member of Christian Mothers.
The couple loves spending time with family.
The Carbins are members of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Herman.
