Thompson 100th birthday
Clara J. Thompson of Cabot will celebrate her 100th birthday with a family dinner at Miller’s Restaurant in Karns City.
The former Clara E. Jameson was born Aug. 20, 1915, near Petrolia. She married the late Robert K. Thompson on June 1, 1938, at a Lutheran church in Gettysburg.
She has two children, Robert K. Thompson Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Larry J. Thompson of Delmont.
She also has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thompson was an elementary school teacher for 29 years. She also worked for the Butler County Board of Assistance and for the U.S. Public Health Service.
She is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She also is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
Mrs. Thompson enjoys knitting, crocheting, macramé, pottery, beading and painting. She also enjoyed vacations in Temagami, Ontario, Canada, for 52 consecutive years.
