Dr. Thomas V. Taylor, S.T.D.

Thomas Taylor

Dr. Thomas V. Taylor, S.T.D., 86, of Dublin, Pa., formerly of Hatboro, passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday at his home.

He was the loving husband of Ruth Sutton Taylor for 60 years.

Tom was born in Pittsburgh to the late Thomas D. and Eva Brown Taylor.

He graduated from Mars High School, Class of 1946. Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Bryan College, Dayton, Tenn., an S.T.M. at Faith Theological Seminary and an S.T.D. at Philadelphia College of the Bible, now Cairn University.

He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean War, attaining the rank of sergeant.

Tom served on the faculty of Faith Theological Seminary and was part of the founding faculty of the Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield where he taught for a total of 37 years. He also taught at the Word of Life Bible Institutes in Canada, New York and Florida, and was a noted speaker at camps and conferences around the world.

Tom served as an elder at the Grace Gospel Chapel in Plumsteadville. He was a published author who wrote “Your Old Testament Toolbox” and “Studies in Ecclesiastes.” For the past 25 years, he produced “Biblical Moments” devotional spots, which are aired on GNN Radio in Augusta, Ga. He produced more than 5,000 of these “Moments,” which span a wide variety of topics.

Tom was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family. Tom was an accomplished harmonica player. He was known for his writings and his great sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by his two sons, Douglas A. Taylor and his wife, Carol, of Molalla, Ore., and Timothy V. Taylor and his wife, Kimberly, of Macungie; his two daughters, Jenny L. Perschke and her husband, Thomas, of Renfrew, and Tammy S. Bullis and her husband, Jimmi, of Mt. Baldy, Calif.; his 14 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Harvey R. Taylor and his wife, Geraldine, of McMinnville, Tenn., and Ernest B. Taylor and his wife, Bobbi Ann, of Butler; and his two sisters, Ann Parker and her husband, Everette, of Butler and Eva J. Holfman of Chicora.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Lois J. Farrell, and his brother, David A. Taylor.

Taylor— An informal time of greeting with the family of Dr. Thomas V. Taylor, who passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, will be from 2:30 p.m. to the time of a memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Church, 820 Souderton Road (Route 113), Souderton.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Gospel Chapel, c/o Mission Projects, P.O.
