Moniteau girls bounce back, roll to 52-32 win

Stephanie McCall scored 19 points and also had 12 rebounds as the Moniteau girls basketball team bounced back from a tough loss Saturday with a 52-32 win over North Clarion Tuesday night.

Kristina DeMatteis added 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for the Warriors (7-5), who scored just four points in a loss over the weekend.

Alycia Brehm added nine points on three 3-pointers for Moniteau, which will travel to Forest Area for a makeup game against the Fires today.

Community Alliance 57, First Baptist Christian (boys) 50 — Javier Iglesia scored 24 points, added seven assists and six steals in a losing cause. Trevor Barnhart had 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven steals, Cameron Karnes nine rebounds.

Iglesia had 22 points, Barnhart 18 points, 13 rebounds and 10 steals in a 54-50 loss to Westmoreland Christian Academy.

First Baptist Christian (girls) 46, Westmoreland Christian Academy 15 — Lydia Roth had 14 points and eight rebounds for the winners while Hannah Roth had 11 points and nine rebounds, Casey Hall seven points, Alexis Barnhart 12 rebounds and Caitlyn Mueller eight steals.

Hockey

Stone Haberstroh and Robert Reichenbaugh each scored a pair of goals as Freeport downed Gateway, 7-3.

Ethan Waddell, Hunter Kepple and Michael Frazetta each added a goal for the Yellowjackets.
