A four-time felon was arrested after he allegedly abducted a 27-year-old woman Tuesday night in Butler.

City police said Norman Lee Davis, 28, of Pittsburgh forced the woman into the back of his car after he saw her walking on Ninth Avenue.

Davis is charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, simple assault and driving with a suspended license. He is in the Butler County Prison without bail.

The alleged victim from Butler told police that she was walking with a friend, a woman, 30, when a car pulled up beside them shortly after 9 p.m.

She said a black man wearing a black beanie winter hat got out of the car and punched her friend in the face before he grabbed her, according to court documents.

Neither woman apparently knew the suspect.

The man forced the 27-year-old into the back seat of the car and drove away.

The woman said she tried numerous times to unlock the door but the suspect “kept pushing the power lock button preventing her from unlocking the door,” a police affidavit said.

However, eventually she was able to escape from the car at East Jefferson and North McKean streets.

The women described the car as silver with tinted windows.

Buffalo Township police later that night spotted the vehicle and stopped it. Davis, who is black, was identified as the driver.

Officers searched the car and found a black beanie-style hat in the back seat.

Davis was arrested and jailed. A preliminary hearing will be Feb. 3 at the office of District Judge Peter Shaffer.

Police also learned that Pittsburgh police have an arrest warrant for Davis in connection with an assault Dec. 1.

Davis has an extensive criminal history, court records showed.

His convictions in Allegheny County include felonies for selling drugs in 2007 and 2012, robbery in 2005 and carrying a gun without a permit in 2005.
