Teen accused of snatching cell phone
SUMMIT TWP — A Butler County woman was robbed of a cell phone she was selling after meeting the would-be buyer she had contacted on a website, state police said.
The snatch-and-go theft happened last week in Summit Township outside the alleged victim’s home on Route 68.
District Judge Lewis Stoughton on Monday issued an arrest warrant for the suspect, Todd A. Gable Jr., 19, of Tarentum, on robbery and theft charges.
Police believe Kirisa Taimuty used Facebook to negotiate the sale of her $200 smartphone to Gable, who she has known for several years. The two agreed to meet Thursday.
A friend gave Gable a ride to Taimuty’s home, according to court documents.
But instead of paying for the phone, a police affidavit said, Gable “reached out of the passenger window of the (friend’s) car and grabbed the cell phone from (Taimuty’s) hands.”
The car left westbound on Route 68 toward Butler.
