The Butler Middle School ice hockey team scored three first-period goals on the way to a 5-2 win over Greater Latrobe on Friday.

Gavin Morrison started the scoring off an assist from Brett Brady. Trevor Gilliland wound up with a hat trick and an assist, while Garet Banner recorded the game-winning goal.

Brody Lineman stopped 15 of the 17 shots he faced in net.

Butler is in second place in its division and plays tonight in Delmont against Franklin Regional.
