The Butler Junior High eighth-grade football team opened its season recently with a 47-30 victory over North Hills.

Colton Frost scored on touchdown runs of four and three yards. Logan Dubyak scored on a 39-yard run, quarterback Sammy Dietrich on a 50-yard run as Butler led 26-0 at halftime.

Luke Michalek scored three touchdowns in the second half, returning a kickoff 65 yards to pay-dirt and finding the end zone on runs of 15 and 50 yards.

Jacob Keene, Michalek and Brandon Fleeger paced the defense. Devon Stephens converted three PATs and Dietrich added a two-point conversion.
