SCRANTON — Investigators say a 22-year-old Lackawanna College student was fatally shot after a party.

Authorities say Harrisburg resident Rahsan Crowder was pronounced dead at a hospital around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, a little more than an hour after he was shot near the school's campus in Scranton. Acting police Chief Carl Graziano said police had responded to a report of a shooting and found Crowder with gunshot wounds.

Graziano said police believe Crowder had attended a party near the crime scene and had been involved in some sort of argument. He said police have possible suspects, but no arrest was announced.

STROUDSBURG — A school board member in northeastern Pennsylvania is facing charges after authorities say he assaulted another board member following a meeting last year.The Pocono Record said Harvey R. Frable III, 42, is facing aggravated assault and other charges in connection with a parking lot altercation that followed a Pleasant Valley School Board meeting in December. Investigators said the defendant followed fellow board member Jim Spinola out to his car, asking if he had been talking about him. Police say Frable then slammed a car door on Spinola's shoulder several times after an expletive-laced tirade.

WEXFORD — Investigators say a deck collapsed while about a dozen people were on it at a house party, but no serious injuries were reported. The accident happened at a home in McCandless around 6 p.m. Sunday.
