Butler claims 2nd in duals
The Butler Junior High wrestling team finished in second place at the Butler Duals Tournament recently.
Butler defeated Hopewell 64-18, Burrell 43-36, Indiana 67-15 and Hampton 54-33, before falling to Greensburg Salem 58-20 in the championship match.
Caleb Baxter went 5-0 with four pins and Scotty Dietrich went 5-0 with two pins to lead the Tornado, which also saw Hugh O'Neil, Zack Hunka, Sam Dietrich, Christian Sequete and Donovan Malovich each go 4-1.
Butler will host Knoch on Wednesday.

The Knoch Junior High team placed fourth at the 13-team Southmoreland Tournament recently.
Michael Renaud captured the 138-pound division while teammates Eric Green (105) and Nick Shideler both placed second, Lane Rodgers (100), Max Freyermuth (130) and Matt Walter (145) placed third and Corey Payne (185) finished in fourth place.
Emily Hegedus scored 11 points to pace the Butler Catholic Saints varsity team to a 40-14 victory over Northside Catholic on Saturday.Maggie Bartony and Emily Peratt added nine and eight points, respectively.
The Pittsburgh Huskies U16AA squad split a pair of games over the weekend — a 2-1 defeat to the Altoona Trackers Saturday, followed by a 5-2 win over the Butler Valley Dawgs Sunday.On Saturday, Cam Williams scored the lone goal off an assist by Connor Scott while Clay Bachman made 16 saves in net.On Sunday, Christian Miller registered a hat trick with Dustin Davis and Nick Makozy also scoring for the Huskies.Williams and Nick Whann chipped in with two assists apiece.Next up, the Huskies face the Steel City renegades Saturday at the Valley Sports Complex.
