Butler’s freshman hockey team earned it seventh victory of the season by defeating Fox Chapel 19-0 Thursday.
Brody Lineman earned the shutout for the Golden Tornado (7-1), who lead their section. Trevor Gilliland led the scoring with three goals and six assists while Luke Tomasovic had five goals and an assist.
Justin Strobel, Brett Brady and Cameron Barto all added a pair of goals for Butler. The Tornado return to action at 9:40 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Ice Connection.
In other action:
Tanner Hill netted four goals and Robert Reichenbaugh added three more to power the Freeport freshmen hockey team to a 10-1 victory over Fox Chapel.
Case Haberstroh, Austin Carcia and David Gaspersic also scored for Freeport, which received 14 saves in net from Morgan Penn.
WrestlingThe Butler Junior High team overcame a 30-0 deficit Wednesday to defeat Pine-Richland, 62-36.Recording pins for the Golden Tornado were Zack Hunka, Mike Vought, Jacob Lex, Hank Finan, Eli Hartung and Justin Johnson. Scotty Dietrich won by a 16-3 decision.Butler returns to action Jan. 2 at North Allegheny Black.
