YOUTH SWIMMING

The Butler YMCA swim team recently competed at the Mark Braun Swim Classic held at Spire Institute near Cleveland.

There were more than 40 teams and 1,200 competitors at the meet from the midwest and Pennsylvania.

Butler Y swimmer Camryn Forbes won the age 13-14 400-yard individual medley and set team records of 59.54 seconds in the 100 backstroke, 54.95 in the 100 freestyle and 1:56.85 in the 200 freestyle.

Dave Bocci, 10, of Butler won the 100 individual medley. Laura Goettler 10, set team records of 1:02:03 in the 100 free and 1:10.74 in the 100 individual medley. She finished second in both events.

The Butler Y also competed in its first dual meet of the season, defeating East Suburban Pittsburgh YMCA in six of the 10 age groups.
