Center Township and East Butler posted victories Saturday in Butler Area Midget Football League play.

Center Township 16, Meridian 12 — Alec Bayer opened the scoring for Meridian on a 1-yard run in the second quarter. Gavin Terwilliger answered for Center Township with an 11-yard scoring run, followed by a conversion kick from Mike DiMartino.

A recovered fumble in the third quarter set up a 6-yard Terwilliger touchdown run, DiMartino again adding the kick. Bayer scored on an 11-yard run for Meridian in the fourth quarter.

East Butler 30, Butler City 6 — East Butler had a 30-0 lead by halftime as Dallas Hays opened the scoring with a 15-yard run and Vance Stroup added the conversion kick. Cole Bergbigler returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown with Stroup adding the PAT kick.

Hays scored on a 70-yard run and Simon Geibel returned an interception 35 yards for a score. Stroup tacked on his third conversion kick. Dante Smith scored Butler City’s lone touchdown on a 47-yard run in the third quarter.

In junior varsity action:

Kyler Callihan scored three touchdowns as Center Township defeated Meridian, 20-6. Ethan Morton and Jack Codispot scored PATs. Mitchell Wong scored for Meridian.

Tre Stephens scored two touchdowns, Nathan Freil and Cameron Weisenstein one each as Butler City blanked East Butler, 25-0.
