The Butler seventh-grade White basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Shaler by a score of 44-36 recently.

Eight players scored for Butler, led by Jefferson Ford with eight, Joel Stutz seven and Steve Beichner six.

The win improves Butler to 7-1 on the year and the squad will travel to Hampton on Thursday for its next game.

• David Farmer hit the winning shot as time expired in the second overtime as Butler Catholic defeated OLMBS 40-37.

Noah Ferguson scored 11 points, Terrence Maryland Thompson had 10 points and 13 rebounds, Joe Farmer nine points and seven boards.

The Saints are 4-0 in section play.

• Butler Catholic’s junior varsity girls defeated St. Alexis, 9-8, recently. Mia Maher scored five points and Abigail Book four.
