Butler’s freshman boys basketball team is off to a 3-1 start..

The Golden Tornado defeated Mt. Lebanon, 46-31, as Nick Patten scored 28 points. Patten scored 24 and Justice Lewandowski 16 in a 58-44 win over West Shamokin.

Lewandowski netted 11 points and Trevor Young 10 in a 42-33 loss to North Hills. Andrew Paterno and Lewandowski scored 14 points each in a 40-35 win over Knoch.

• Joel Stutz scored 11 points to lead the Butler seventh-grade White to a 35-25 win over Fox Chapel in the North Allegheny Christmas tourney finals..

Donovan Slater added seven points, Ian McCarrier and Jace Stutz six apiece for Butler (4-1).
