The 2011 to 2012 James Regal Aviation Scholarship was awarded to

Loraine Devers of Zelienople.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded yearly through the Community College of Beaver County in memory of James Regal, a Slippery Rock High School and Community College of Beaver County graduate who was killed in a 2005 airplane crash.

John Scialabba of Butler has been named to the 2011 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was recognized as an outstanding campus leader during the annual Saint Vincent College Founders' Day Vespers and Honors Convocation Nov. 17 in the Archabbey Basilica.Scialabba serves as senior class president on the Student Government Association.He has been involved in Campus Ministry mission and service trips, working in West Virginia, Florida and Brazil.Scialabba also works as a Sports Friendship Day Co-Coordinator and a chemistry teacher's assistant.He is a senior biology major.Scialabba is a 2008 graduate of Butler High School and the son of Anthony and Shirley Scialabba.———

<B>Lauren Burke </B>of Valencia has been elected president of The University of Findlay's Social Work Club.She is a sophomore social work major.Burke is a 2008 graduate of Mars High School and the daughter of Diane and Steven Burke of Valencia.———<B>Sam Dowdy</B> of Sarver is a member of the Campus Activities Board and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Ashland University.Dowdy is majoring in integrated social studies and serves as secretary of the Campus Activities Board.He is the son of Jonathan and Kathleen Dowdy of Sarver and a 2009 graduate of Central High School.———<B>Lacy Hepler</B> of Butler is a member of the Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society at Indiana (Pa.) University.She is a senior geography major.Hepler is the daughter of Keith and Carol Hepler of Butler and a graduate of Butler High School.———<B>Natalie Hritz </B>of Seven Fields, is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi at Ashland University.Hritz is majoring in dietetics.She is the daughter of Paul and Susan Hritz of Seven Fields and a 2010 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.———

<B>Shannon McCarren </B>of Butler was awarded the Dot Pasqualichio Scholarship by the Musical Theatre Guild of Butler.McCarren is attending Indiana (Pa.) University and studying musical theater.The scholarship is awarded to a student who has participated in past Musical Theatre Guild productions.———<B>Amy McLaughlin</B> of Butler is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma at Clarion University.McLaughlin is the daughter of Mark and Sharon McLaughlin of Butler.———<B>Elizabeth Papantonio </B>of Zelienople is a member of the Women's Chorus and the National Society for Minorities in Hospitality at Ashland University.Papantonio is majoring in hospitality management and marketing.She is the daughter of Tony Papantonio and Karen Haluck and is a 2010 graduate of Seneca Valley High School.———<B>Rebecca Ray</B> of Sarver competed with 30 Westminster College students in the 22nd annual American Model United Nations International Conference Nov. 19 to 22 in Chicago.Ray is a senior Spanish and international politics major.She is the daughter of Gary and Kathleen Ray and is a graduate of Knoch High School.Ray represented Poland on the Economic Commission for Europe and earned a Best Advocate Award representing Australia at the International Court of Justice.
