CRANBERRY TWP — Township resident Doug Kaleugher has been named a finalist by Parata Systems and Pharmacy Times magazine for the second annual Next-Generation Pharmacist awards.

The 2011 Next Generation program honors pharmacists who define the future of the industry across a wide range of practice settings across the country.

Kaleugher, owner of Med-Fast Pharmacy, is a finalist in the category of Entrepreneur of the Year. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and opened his first Med-Fast Pharmacy in 1990.

Since then, Kaleugher has opened National Sign Inc., Shamrock Limousine, Thrifty Car Rental, Thrifty Car Sales, Studio DCI and iServe Technologies, all located in Beaver County. Kaleughers’ nomination for the award comes from his business achievements and knowledge in pharmacies.

The award will be presented in Boston on Aug. 29.

Kaleugher and his family live in Cranberry Township.

Ducky Derby raises more than $1,200The Butler County Young Professionals and United Way of Butler County raised more than $1,200 through the second annual Ducky Derby that was held July 19 in Sullivan Run by the Pullman Park in Butler.Participants donated money so their rubber ducks could race down the run.The money raised during this event benefits the Moraine Trails Scout Reach Program and the Butler County Children’s Center Childcare Program.

Westinghouse appoints officerCRANBERRY TWP — Westinghouse Electric Co. has announced a promotion.Rick Gabbianelli has been named senior vice president of the Westinghouse Strategy organization. In this newly formed role, he will lead Westinghouse in the implementation of the following strategic priorities: analyzing and prioritizing opportunities to sell and build new nuclear plants; sustaining growth and operational excellence within core businesses; differentiating the company through technology leadership; identifying and responding to significant business threats and risks; and optimizing long-term strategic investments for Westinghouse.Gabbianelli has 33 years of experience in financial and strategy leadership roles with Westinghouse and other companies.

SAE names 2011 top employeeWARRENDALE — Jolene McKenzie, a 22-year employee of SAE International, is the 2011 recipient of the Joe Gilbert Award.The Joe Gilbert Award is the organization’s highest staff honor. It recognizes SAE International employees who demonstrate positive professionalism in the workplace.McKenzie is an e-Marketing specialist at SAE, where she began her career in 1989. She lives in Cranberry Township.

Main St.A board certified orthodontist with more than 25 years of experience, Machen is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine and its pediatric dentistry and orthodontic residency programs.He serves on the orthodontic faculty of Case Western University Dental School (Cleveland) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
