Nancy Asa Dunkle, 87, of Butler died early Sunday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in California, Pa., Oct. 9, 1923, a daughter of John and Bolomia Hallal Asa.

Nancy was retired from Butler Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the St. Anthony Antiochian Orthodox Church in Butler.

She was the widow of John R. Dunkle. They were married Feb. 1, 1969, and he died Feb. 15, 1994. She also was preceded in death by two sisters. The most recent was Jessie L. Asa, who died Sept. 10, 2004.

She is survived by several cousins.
