Mary M. Schnur
Mary M. Schnur, 89, formerly of Herman and Butler, died Saturday morning at St. John's Specialty Care Home in Mars.
She was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Herman, a daughter of William F. and Anna Spahn Schnur, who are deceased.
Mary had worked in the housekeeping department of Butler Memorial Hospital for 13 years and retired in 1987. Before that, she worked for more than 14 years at the Saxonburg Ceramics Co.
Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Herman and the Herman Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are her son, Gary W. Schnur, and his wife, Kathy, of New Port Richey, Fla.; two brothers, Willis (Katherine) Schnur of Butler and Kenneth (Nancy) Schnur, of Chicora; two sisters, Leola Sarver, also at St. John's Home, and Ethel (Arthur) Miller of Butler; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
<B>SCHNUR</B> — Friends of Mary M. Schnur, who died Saturday, May 7, 2011, will be received at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler. The Rev. Ward Stakem, OFM Cap. Pastor, will officiate.
