Walter Wroblewski Jr.
Walter Wroblewski Jr., 83, of Cranberry Township died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.
Born Dec. 1, 1927, in Sharpsburg, he was the son of Walter and Anna Wasko Wroblewski.
Mr. Wroblewski was a member of New Life Anglican Church, formerly St. Christopher Episcopal Church, Mars.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Wroblewski loved to ride his Farmall Super A tractor as well as his other tractors. He also loved creating interesting devices such as a wood-burning pool heater made from a 50-gallon drum and building a tree house for his granddaughter.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Florence L. (Steele) Wroblewski, who he married July 15, 1950; a son, Richard W. “Rick” (Cynthia) Wroblewski of Butler; a daughter, Terri L. (Jim) Seltzer of Cranberry Township.; a brother, John Wroblewski of Cranberry Township; two grandchildren, Justin (Maria) Wroblewski and Mary Taylor; a great-grandson, Justin Wroblewski Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Ashley and Adam Filges; and a step great-granddaughter, Vanessa Filges.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Wroblewski, who died in 1967; and three sisters, Stella Switalski, Bernice Santypal and Genevieve Sarnicki.
Friends were received Friday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services were Saturday at New Life Anglican Church, corner of Clark and Cherry streets, Mars, at St. Kilian Church former Mars site, with Deacon Mary Beth Carey officiating.
