Wilma A. Kniess

Wilma A. Kniess of Prospect died Sunday night at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler after an illness.

She was born in Prospect and was the daughter of Henry M. and Lillie Hines Taylor.

She was a homemaker, and she and her husband had owned and operated the Kniess Sunoco Gas Station in Prospect for many years.

She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Prospect.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. June Davis of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Joel (Deborah) Cunningham of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Bruce (Beth) Miller of Prospect; a son, Gary (Kay) Cooper of Schererville, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Fuzz” Kniess, who she married Aug. 5, 1949, and who died May 8, 1985; six sisters; and two brothers.

<B>KNIESS </B>— There will be no public visitation. A memorial service for Wilma A. Kniess, who died Sunday, May 1, 2011, will be at 11 a.m. May 21 at The Presbyterian Church of Prospect with the Rev. Robert Allison, church pastor, and the Rev. Dana Opp of Portersville Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prospect Preservation Society or Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.Arrangements are by <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home </B>in Prospect.
