Dorothy Kathleen Andrew Brown
Dorothy Kathleen Andrew Brown, 91, of 608 Roup St., Tarentum, died at 12:54 p.m. Friday at Shelbourne Assisted Living in Penn Township.
Born Sept. 9, 1919, in Stamford, England, she was the daughter of Albert Andrew and Sally (Jones) Andrew.
She worked in the payroll department of a British ammunitions factory during World War II.
She lived most of her life in Tarentum, where she was a homemaker. She also was a part-time employee in the Valley News Dispatch mail room and at Kummer's Bakery.
She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brackenridge and was a former member of the Brackenridge American Legion Auxiliary.
Dorothy came to the United States in 1946 as a World War II war bride and was a volunteer at the VA hospital in Aspinwall and a former Allegheny Valley Hospital volunteer.
Surviving are her children, Carol Lynn (Bud) Fassett of Butler, Gary G. Brown of Upper Burrell, Dan J. (Deborah) Brown of Fawn Township and Elaine K. (Charles) Hayes of Upper Burrell; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in the death by her parents; her husband, Bernard J. Brown, who died in 1986; and a son, Bernard A. Brown, who died in 2008.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary R. Evans, chaplain, officiating.
