Ruth Gertrude Hindman, 97, of Angert's Personal Care Home, formerly of Protzman Road, passed away at 4:55 a.m. Friday in the VNA Hospice.

She was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Butler to the late William J. Love and Bessie (Day) Love Oesterling.

Mrs. Hindman was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church.

She was a former cafeteria worker at Emily Brittain School, and also worked in the housekeeping department at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Hindman is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Helane Hay, Mrs. Richard (Kitty) Walker and Mrs. Paula Stepp, all of Butler; four granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; one-great granddaughter; one-great great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Hindman, who she married on Sept. 19, 1931, and who passed away on May 16, 1984; one grandson; two sisters; and one brother.

<B>HINDMAN</B> — Friends of Ruth Gertrude Hindman, who died Friday, April 22, 2011, will be received at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating.Burial will take place in the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Butler Presbyterian Church, East Butler, PA 16029.
