Shuler

Agnes “Pearl” Shuler, 88, of Natrona Heights passed away Monday at UPMC St. Margaret hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born July 29, 1922, in Lowell, Mass., to the late John A. Saunders and Janet (Peverill) Saunders.

Mrs. Shuler was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Cliffside Apartments Tenant Council, where she was president for four terms.

Mrs. Shuler was a radio personality, serving as moderator for the “Voice of Senior Citizens” on WBUT for eight years in the 1980s.

She graduated from Chelmsford High School, Chelmsford, Mass., where she was a class valedictorian, and she also attended nursing school. Mrs. Shuler was a senior worker for Butler Area Agency on Aging.

Mrs. Shuler is survived by her one daughter, Marcia Albert of Natrona Heights; two grandchildren, Michael Albert of Pittsburgh and Christopher Albert of Hollister, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Ian Albert of Pittsburgh, Samantha “Pearl” Albert of Pittsburgh, Dillon Albert of Hollister, Calif., and Matthew Albert of Hollister, Calif.; one brother, Raymond Saunders of Freeport, Ill.; and also by four nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arnold Saunders of Saxonburg, and her sister, Mary Leonard of Butler.
