Eugene Vincent Cupps, 79, of Butler died Tuesday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Butler.

Born Aug. 30, 1931, in Butler, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Rose M. (McLaughlin) Cupps.

He worked as a roller for the Armco Steel Plant in Butler for 33 years, retiring in April 1992.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and the American Legion.

He was an avid golfer and gardener and most loved to watch his grandson, Josh, play baseball.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Cupps, who he married Sept. 24, 1955; five daughters, Susan (John) Bimle of Pittsburgh, Dolores (Rich) Marchinoski of Butler, Denise Cupps of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Johanna (Steve) Cupps Boyd of Butler and Christine (Mark) Cupps Bosak of Butler; a grandson, Joshua Marchinoski of Butler; two brothers, Alfred Cupps and Frances Cupps, both of Butler; two sisters, Florence Stickney and Helen McGuirk, both of Virginia; and two step-grandchildren, Nick Bosak and Sarah (Joe) Bosak Straw.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Margaret Cratty; and a brother, Reges Cupps.

<B>CUPPS</B> — Friends of Eugene Vincent Cupps, who died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 3 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Robert Oravetz, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler.Parastas services will be at 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
