Luke Franchuk of Butler was inducted March 24 into Phi Alpha Theta, Westminster College’s history honor society, following a lecture by alumnus Dr. John Donoghue, assistant professor of history at Loyola University. A junior history major, Franchuk is the son of Gary and Patrice Franchuk and a graduate of Shady Side Academy.———

Brooke Lyon of Butler presented her capstone project April 28 at Westminster College. A senior Spanish major, she is the daughter of James and Barbara Lyon of Butler and a graduate of Butler High School. She presented “Bullfighting: Will It Survive Criticism?”———

Susan Myers of Parker was inducted April 8 into the Beta Beta Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas.Myers is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Margaret and Bernard Miller of East Brady.———

Christian Estes of Grove City was recognized at Youngstown State University’s 2011 Honors Convocation.Estes received the Dr. William A. Wood Memorial Scholarship in Engineering Technology.
