Butler’s Jesse Savisky tossed a complete-game four-hitter in a 6-2 victory over Mars in freshman baseball action Friday.

Savisky and Ryan Denny added a single and double apiece while D.J. Perez added two hits for Butler (6-4), who play at North Allegheny Saturday.

Track and FieldSeveral Slippery Rock junior high athletes earned first-place finishes at the Mercer County Championships, held Friday at Greenville High School.• In seventh grade girls action, Marissa Siebka won the 400-meter dash and triple jump.For the boys, Clayton Cupec won the 800 and 1,600 runs and teamed with Chase Allen, Grant May and Daulton Hilliard to take first in the 4x400 relay.• In eighth grade boys, Cameron Neal won the discus and Brady Kadlubek the 100 dash.Kadlubek, Shane Kirkwood, Jake Whitmer and Mark Cessar placed first in the 4x400 relay.
