Kaylynn Callihan won the shot put and javelin and Julia Baxter the high and long jumps to lead the Butler girls junior high track team to an 82-45 victory over Seneca Valley and an 63.5-63.5 loss to North Allegheny Friday.

The Tornado lost to the Tigers via the tiebreaker where North Allegheny recorded more first place finishes (9-6).

Alyssa DiPippa won the triple jump and Claire Weiland the pole vault for Butler.

Elsewhere:

• Emily McDonald struck out five and added two singles and two runs scored in the Butler Junior High softball team’s recent 5-4 win over Seneca Valley.

Also contributing to the victory were Jen Miller and Amanda Davis, both with a base hit and run batted in.
