Keenan Krause and Mark Gross scored 13 points each to lead the Butler freshman boys basketball team (7-2) to a 56-38 triumph over Pine-Richland recently.

Butler Catholic 43, St. Benedict 31 — Chris McConnell scored 15 points to lead the Saints (4-0). Dave Miller had 13 points and John Ferguson 10 while Terrence Thompson had eight rebounds.

Butler Catholic 44, Aquinas 3 — In varsity girls action Saturday, Annie Hegedus scored 15 points and Melea Barlow 10 to power the Saints.

Butler Catholic 33, Aquinas 5 — In junior varsity play, Emily Hegedus had 14 points to lead all scorers.

The Butler junior high squad used 19 pins to capture the Butler Duals Saturday.The Golden Tornado (10-0) defeated North Allegheny Gold 73-18, North Allegheny Black 79-7 and Hopewell 82-7.Hugh O'Neil, Jared Hinkle, Mason Kauffman, Zak Hutchison, Jeremiah Bortmas, Kirk Gibson, David Slomers, Zack Raible, Ryan Hannon, Taylor Flick and Austin George won all three of their respective matches to lead the way.Slomers was named most outstanding wrestler with three pins.
