BUTLER AREA MIDGET FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Center Township and Butler City will meet for the Butler Area Midget Football League championship at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at Art Bernardi Stadium.

Center Township (7-0) stayed undefeated with a 26-6 win over East Butler while Butler City (3-4) shut out Meridian, 20-0, in the first round of the playoffs Saturday at Memorial Park.

Center Township 26, East Butler 6 — Jamison Smith's interception set up a 5-yard scoring run by CT's Max Bachman. A Bachman interception set up his own 14-yard touchdown run for a 12-0 lead.East Butler (1-6) got on the scoreboard when Tristan Patterson ran 30 yards for a touchdown. But the Rams marched 60 yards with the first possession of the second half, capped by Lucas Dubyak's 17-yard scoring run.Dubyak later scored on a 31-yard run. The conversion was added on a Smith pass to Wyatt Daugherty.

Butler City 20, Meridian 0 — Darian Pickett ran three yards for the game's first touchdown. The score remained 6-0 until Damien Pickett scored on a 30-yard run in the third quarter.Tyler Coppersmith scored the game's final touchdown on a 1-yard run. Brandon Hilderbrand added the conversion run. Meridian finished the season 3-4.East Butler plays Center Township at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 23 for the BAMFL junior varsity title at Bernardi Stadium.
