Central Electric Cooperative asks members to conserve electricity today
PARKER, Armstrong County — Central Electric Cooperative is asking its members today to mind peak hours and conserve energy to save money.
Today's temperatures are expected to reach the 90-degree mark for the first time in a week, and the co-op issued a peak alert for the day.
Members are asked to turn off nonessential electric items, particularly lighting, air conditioner units, dehumidifiers and pool pumps from noon to 6 p.m.
Reducing electricity demand means the co-op will buy less electric and help keep costs down.
The cooperative has members in Butler County and several surrounding counties.
