Sgt. Ronald E. "Butch" Heasley, 66, of Ford City, formerly of Fenelton, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at ACMH Hospital following a lingering illness.

Born June 30, 1943, in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Leon C. Heasley and the late Mary E. Rodgers Heasley Frketich.

He worked at Pullman Standard for 20 years. He served 29 years with the U.S. Army, retiring in the U.S. Army Reserves as a sergeant first class.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Fenelton (Coylesville). He was a member of the Ford City VFW, the American Legion and the United Steel Workers Union of America.

He enjoyed bowling and stock car racing.

He is survived by a son, Sean Heasley and his wife, Renee, of Morrisville; a daughter, Korrina Smith and her husband, Charles, of Butler; six grandchildren, and several cousins.
