Mildred Frances Plaisted, 85, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 13, 1924, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Francis and Hazel (Kimmel) Shoaf.

Mildred was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Maqueda Chapter of Eastern Star 421.

She was an organist for local skating rinks in Western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, such as Castle Roller Rink in Butler, Skatemore in New Wilmington and Rock Falls Park. She also was an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service as a tax preparer.

Surviving are her husband, Paul C. Plaisted; two sons, Jack and Carla Plaisted of Butler and Dan and Lois Plaisted of Butler; five granddaughters, Amber Thompson of Butler, Amy Thompson of Butler, Cheryl Wilson of Erie, Jacqueline Kirch of Cranberry Township and Danielle Plaisted of Butler; a grandson, Jeremy Plaisted of Butler; four great-grandchildren, Hayley and Braylen Wilson, and Marissa Whipple and Brandy Plaisted; step-grandchildren, Nicole Plaisted and Brittany Plaisted; and step-great-grandchildren, Marie Parker, Heidi Parker and McKenzie McCory and Kendall McCory.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lynn Thompson.

<B>PLAISTED</B> — Friends of Mildred Frances Plaisted, who died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Young Funeral Home Ltd.</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at North Main St. Church of God, 1201 N. Main Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Brown officiating.
