Hawk

Kara Brooke Hawk, 34, of Delmont, Pa., formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Friday while surrounded by her family at her home.

Born May 9, 1975, in Cranberry Township, she was the daughter of Gary G. and Mary E. (Kinzler) Thompson.

She was a 1993 graduate of Seneca Valley Senior High School and a 1997 graduate of Penn State University, receiving her bachelor's degree in theater.

Following graduation, Kara worked at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., in the costume department.

Kara was a very active and faithful member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Delmont. She also was an active member in the Newlonsburg MOPS group.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Brian A. Hawk, who she married Aug. 11, 2001; her son and daughter, Declan O. Hawk, 5, and Murphy I. Hawk, 2; a brother, Jason Kelly Thompson of Verona, N.J.; paternal grandmother, Rhoda Thompson of Cranberry Township.; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Mary Lou Hawk of Plum, Pa., brothers-in-law, Bill (Mary) Hawk of Plum and Tim Hawk of Silver Spring, Md.; and four nieces and two nephews, Nicole, Erika and Danielle Thompson and Delaney, Reese and Carson Hawk.

<B>HAWK</B> — Friends of Kara Brooke Hawk, who died Friday April 16, 2010, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at <B>Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home</B>, Cranberry Township, 130 Wisconsin Ave. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Church, 301 E. Pittsburgh St., Delmont, Pa., with the Rev. Frederick C. Heitzenroder, her church pastor, officiating. Everyone, please meet at the church.
