Skrobot

George P. Skrobot, 87, of Center Township died Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 22, 1922, in Butler, he was a son of the late Philip and Anna Prementine Skrobot.

He was a press operator for the Pullman Standard Car Co. in Butler, retiring after 34 years in January 1976.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the V.F.W. Post 249 in Butler, the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, and the U.S.W. Croatian Lodge in Pittsburgh. He was an avid golfer.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Surviving are his daughter, Carol Miller and her husband, Reyland, of Butler; a brother, Joseph V. Skrobot of Butler; a sister, Pauline Winkowski of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his pal, Buffy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Minder Skrobot, who died Jan. 12, 1991, and his sister, Rose Meier.

<B>SKROBOT</B> — A Mass of Christian burial for George P. Skrobot, who died Friday April 16, 2010, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.
