EMLENTON, Venango County — A program about the impact of Marcellus Shale in Western Pennsylvania will be held at 1 p.m. May 1 at the Crawford Center in Emlenton.

Admission to the event, a suggested $10 donation, will benefit the Boys & Girls Club Along the Allegheny, Emlenton.

Drew Orient of Orion Consulting will be the emcee with scheduled speakers Jim and Christina Kapp of Whitelight Development; James Hatton McCall, a self-declared 2012 presidential candidate; and state Rep. Scott Hutchison, R-64th.

Organizers are also working with the Marcellus Shale Coalition for additional speakers.

Also, a meeting on the Marcellus Shale topic will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Willamsport, Lycoming County, which will be broadcast live on the Pennsylvania Cable Network or PCN, channel 47 on Armstrong cable.

Representatives from the state Department of Environmental Protection, the Marcellus Shale Coalition, and banking and legal experts will serve as panel members for the televised discussion.
