Armco Credit Union is warning customers of scammers impersonating its agents and attempting to steal customers’ information.
Scammers are using the credit union’s phone number to send text messages to its customers and ask them to validate transactions, according to a Facebook post by the organization.
The credit union said it will never call or text a customer to confirm a transaction or identity.
Customers who receive a suspicious text message claiming to be from the credit union should not reply and should call the credit union at 724-284-2020, option 8, to confirm whether the message is legitimate.
