The Butler junior high boys track and field team ran its dual meet winning streak to 39 recently with victories of 72-55 over Fox Chapel and 76-42 over Mars.
Barry Murray won the 100-meter dash for the Golden Tornado with a time of 12.02 seconds, seventh fastest in school history. Tyler Widenhofer's second-place time of 12.26 just missed making the program's all-time top 10.
Other Butler athletes finishing first in their respective events included Byron Minous in the 110 high hurdles and long jump, Jacob Lenhart in the shot put, Jared Blakely in the discus, Austin Grupp in the 400 and Chris Short in the 800.
Tornado relay teams finishing first were the 400 unit of Robert Burdine, Minous, Widenhofer and Murray, and the 1,600 quartet of Burdine, Minous, Grupp and Widenhofer.
