The Butler Sleep Disorders Centers have been accredited and passed an inspection by two national organizations.

The sleep lab in Pullman Square Business Park passed an inspection by doctors and board members of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

The lab has also been accredited by Medicare and the state Department of Health.

The academy evaluation process began more than a year ago with the medical, technical and administrative staffs of the sleep lab evaluated on performing and reporting on a patient receiving a sleep study. Many aspects of a sleep study were reviewed including patient testing, confidentiality, infection control, equipment function, results reporting, procedures, and test interpretation.

The Butler Sleep Disorders Centers business is one of the only pediatric sleep labs in the region. The four offices are in Butler, Kittanning, Clarion and White Oak.

GIBSONIA — Shelly Jenkins has been promoted to executive director of Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas, Valencia Campus.Her responsibilities include overseeing all departments and operations of Valencia Woods and The Arbors. She is also responsible for ensuring the facilities meet local, state and federal regulations.Jenkins is a licensed nursing home administrator and will also serve as administrator of Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas.She has been with the St. Barnabas Health System for 17 years, and lives in Ohio Township, Allegheny County, with her husband, Gary, and their three children: Cole, Marley and Grant.

CRANBERRY TWP — Marie Millie Jones, a partner with Meyer, Darragh, Buckler, Bebenk & Eck, a Pittsburgh law firm, has been named the 2010 Susan B. Anthony Award winner from the Women's Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania.This award is presented annually to an attorney who "exemplifies the goals of the Women's Bar Association by demonstrating dedication to encouraging and promoting women in the law and maintaining the highest standards of the legal profession."Jones is a defense attorney who represents companies in employment matters and other clients in commercial disputes.She lives in Cranberry Township with her husband, Cameron.
