Mack Peters scored 14 points as the Butler Gold eighth-grade girls basketball team defeated Mars 31-24 recently.

Madison Tincha added eight points and Kierra Dowling had six.

In other games:

• Butler's seventh-grade squad lost a 29-26 overtime decision to Mars despite 10 points from Julia Baxter and six from Alyssa DiPippa.

Both teams host Shaler Thursday.

• The Butler White girls squad suffered a 37-11 loss at North Allegheny. Jenna Clouse, Hannah Quinlan, Kaitlin Barnett and Marissa McKee scored for the Golden Tornado.

Butler travels to Fox Chapel Friday.
