The Galantes in 1949

Richard and Avelin Galante of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a brunch given by their children at their South Monroe Street home.

Galante married the former Avelin Gaudino on Sept. 20, 1949, at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Butler, where they have both been members for more than 80 years.

They have five children, Victoria Galante, Rick Galante, Tina Horsman and Danielle Rossmiller, all of Butler, and Michele Schidemantle of Chicora.

They also have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Mr. Galante is retired from PennDOT.Mrs. Galante is retired from the Butler Housing Authority.
