Fred and Martha Thompson

Fred and Martha "Jody" Thompson of Chicora recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Thompson married the former Martha Groves on Sept. 6, 1949, at First Baptist Church in Butler.

They have four children, Jean Smith of Chicora, Paul Thompson of Chicora, Ben Thompson of Parker and Jeff Thompson of Crestview, Fla.

They also have eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Thompson is retired from Armco.

Mrs. Thompson is a homemaker. She also taught at Family Life Academy in Butler.

The Thompsons are members of Faith Fellowship Alliance in Butler.
