The Payungs in 1959

Gordon and Mary Payung celebrated 50 years of marriage with a gathering of family and neighbors at their home in Meridian.

Payung married the former Mary Margaret Rodgers on Aug. 18, 1959, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have five children, Barry Payung of Valencia and Christina Reamer, Anita Farmer, Gina Harvey and Paula Elder, all of Butler.

They also have 16 grandchildren.

Mr. Payung is retired from Pullman Standard and Trinity Industries.Mrs. Payung is retired from Family Drug Stores and is a homemaker.The Payungs are members of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic church in Meridian.
