Dickey 90th Birthday
John Charles "Chuck" Dickey of Slippery Rock will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday given by his family at Plain Grove Presbyterian Church in Plain Grove.
The open house will include a cake and ice cream reception. The family requests no gifts.
Dickey was born July 16, 1919, in Slippery Rock Township.
He was married to J. Marie McCurdy Dickey, who is deceased.
Dickey has eight children, Ruth Keith of Harmony, Evelyn Vargo of New Castle, and James Dickey, Fred Dickey, David Dickey, Dennis Dickey, Mark Dickey and Robert Dickey, all of Slippery Rock Township.
Dickey is a retired truck driver and owner/operator with Russell Trucking Company in Wampum. He also was a private pilot.
He is involved with the Portersville Steam Association and Slippery Rock unit of the Salvation Army.
His hobbies include antique tractors and his 1915 Model T Ford.
Dickey attends Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, where he has served as an elder and Sunday school teacher.
