Zarnick 60th anniversary

Helen and Gene Zarnick

Gene and Helen Zarnick of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family reunion Saturday and a Sunday brunch. The family requests cards with memories be sent to the Zarnicks

Zarnick married the former Helen Hrip on June 19, 1949, at St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.

They have seven children, Gene Zarnick Jr. of Erie, Dave Zarnick Sr. of Butler John Zarnick of Butler, Lori Blank of Mt. Joy, Kevin Zarnick of State College, Beth Zarnick-Duffy of State College and Melissa Ault of Mt. Pleasant.

They also have 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Zarnick retired from Armco after 40 years of service, and Mrs. Zarnick is a homemaker.

The Zarnicks enjoy church activities and volunteering at the Lyndora and South Butler Volunteer Fire Departments.

They enjoy gardening, spending time with family and traveling throughout the United States. The highlight of their travels was spending time at the White House with President Carter and his family after hosting his wife in their home before the Pennsylvania primary of 1976.
