Matt Bartley had two goals in the final minute, the latter with six seconds remaining off an assist by Jake Whann, to allow the Butler Junior High hockey team to tie Kittanning 5-5 Thursday at the Belmont Complex.
Cody Bachman had two goals and an assist, and Zach Dunkle accounted for the other goal for Butler (9-8-1), which also received assists by Jake Tomasovic, Zach Emigh and Shaun Milkovich.
John Ferguson had 16 points and David Farmer had eight rebounds, but the Butler Catholic JV boys (grades five and six) were knocked out of the diocesan playoffs with a 49-30 loss recently.In the previous game, Derek Andreassi had 10 points and Bryce BonAnno had 10 rebounds, but ButlerCatholic fell to Holy Sepulcher, which received a game-high 18 points from Jake Rosswog and nine and eight points, respectively, from John and Steven Castello.
