Lorraine Stonebraker
Lorraine M. Stonebraker, 81, of Main Street, Chicora, a resident at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, went home to her Lord and Savior, who was the center of her life, at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia.
Mrs. Stonebraker as born in Kaylor, Armstrong County, Nov. 17, 1927. She was the daughter of Wayne and Rebecca Ingolls Carroll.
Mrs. Stonebraker was a graduate of Chicora High School.
She was a longtime active member of the Chicora United Methodist Church, where she taught children's and ladies Sunday school for years. She also was a member of the church's Cheerful Workers, sang in the choir, and was active in many social functions including the annual church bazaar, soup and salad luncheon.
Mrs. Stonebraker was a life member and past matron of the Chicora Chapter 354 Order of Eastern Star, and currently was a member of the Butler Chapter 45 Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Stonebraker was an accomplished oil painter and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stonebraker was married Oct. 1, 1948, in Chicora to Gerald O. Stonebraker Jr. He preceded her in death July 10, 1983.
Mrs. Stonebraker is survived by three children, Joyce Santom and her husband, Ron, of Chicora, Gerald S. Stonebraker and his wife, Kay, of Fenelton, and Cynthia Wroblewski and her husband, Rick, of Butler; seven grandchildren, Renee Craig of Chicora, Matthew Stonebraker and his wife, Meredith, of Burgettstown, Mark Stonebraker and his wife, Linsey, of Butler, Joshua Stonebraker and his wife, Erin, of Fredericksburg, Va., Ashley Filges of Butler, Adam Filges and Ashleigh Oesterling of Butler, and Justin Wroblewski and his wife, Maria, of Cranberry Township; and seven great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Tyler, Gavin, Colton, Dylan, Olivia, and Vanessa. Also surviving are a sister, Kathryn DeVitis of Cleveland, and a number of nieces and nephews, a cousin, and many dear friends. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren and their families, Jean, Lynne, Marc and Wayne.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stonebraker was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Stonebraker, who died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>hile Funeral Home</B>, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora. Friends also will be received from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday at the Chicora United Methodist Church, Central Avenue, Chicora. Funeral services will follow at noon at the church with the Rev. Glea Foster, church pastor, officiating.
